Not much to say. Still pretty laggy although playable. Tried some more on first heroic mode boss but gave up after a few attempts since one of our MTs have taken a short vacation and our offspec replacement is barely surviving most attempts and the other attempts he died.
Went and did VoA instead. Was thinking of doing the earth, wind fire achievement but decided to not do it and give the new boss a go. Apparently you need to move out of fire. Continued to wipe on Emalon! Apparently killing adds is hard. For those of you that haven’t done Emalon with us we use 1 tank and 2 healers which make the targeting of the marked add a little harder, especially when we are joking around and not paying attention.
Lag still being bad we went to Ulduar to see if we could get Navras our 3rd legendary mace(he got 21 pieces). Killed 7 bosses and disenchanted everything but 4 items. Spent the majority of that time listening to our Romanian super hero try to talk Norwegian. Not been the start I wanted on heroic mode but with a laggy server and one of our MTs on vacations you can’t really expect much more.
Day started off bad with the server being unbearably laggy the whole day. We started with a 10man to see if we could get some experience of the bosses before the raid started and had Anub’arak 10man normal version dead by 7 o’clock. We decided to not do the achievement linked to this boss on 10man seeing as it seemed to be almost impossible in it’s current state.
While getting ready for the 10man we decided to show off our new earned titles.
Cleared the first 4 bosses in the 25man without much issue and decided to wipe on purpose a few times to learn more about the abilities of Anub’arak. The achievement tied to him on 25man mode don’t seem impossible at all only annoying as hell so we decided to do a fast kill. Have to say I’m disappointed at the design of Anub’arak, it’s almost the same as Anub’arak in Azjol-nerub only with less abilities and easier.
As for the Heroic Mode, sadly lag pretty much killed it for us and we decided to stop doing attempts after 4 wipes. The boss itself didn’t seem to be that hard at all, we made the 2m30s phase switches pretty easily even with 1s lag on all abilities. In the end it wasn’t really worth it to waste 4-5 attempts on wipes because of lag so we decided to end it and kill it on a better night.
Apperently armory got timestamps now so it’s really easy to see who got the kill first. Here you can clearly see us beating Union by 23min for Orbituary and here is us losing Heartbreaker by 8 min to Sinisters. Since we start our raids rather late during the evening this sadly meant that we lost 2 spots on world ranking and dropped to 54th.
As for Trial of the Crusade, Argent Coliseum or Crusader Coliseum as you might call it. We have been busy and reached a world 2nd place for achievements only inches behind a american guild that had the benefit of having bosses released 16 hours ahead of us. Going for Anub’arak achievement and normal clear tomorrow.
Being restricted to only 50 wipes on heroic mode will be a new challenge, hopefully the heroic mode is hard enough for us to not zerg through the first week which would be a shame.
2 weeks ago we did what so few guilds have done and finished Ulduar. Every hard mode dead and buried and giving us a respectable 50th position on the world rankings
I’m not telling the entire truth though, we have still have 2 achievements left to do Supermassive and He Feeds On Your Tears. Quite and a achievement anyway, in fact we have done most achievements of any guild in the world.
Ulduar have been one of the most successful periods of Infamous ever and we have established ourselves as a guild to watch out for.
Now that Ulduar has been out for a few weeks, it’s time for an update!
Since the release of Ulduar we have been progressing out our own pace. In our normal hardcore-yet-casual way we’ve managed to secure a huge amount of achievements, many of them being realm firsts.
These are the current standings as of this morning.
Over the last couple of weeks we had a slight lack of members, meaning we had to keep our aims on completing as many achievements as possible, leaving the harder ones until later. Last week we recruited a few more members to give us a little push ending in 3 hardmode kills in 3 nights, 2 of which were realm firsts.
We don’t intend to slow down any time soon, so lets hope we keep the current momentum and grab some more realm firsts!
Videos from Siona and myself will be released shortly and can be found on our forums here.
Thanks to Siona for making the movie. We’ve had few attempts last week but due to sudden connection problems with different members, we didn’t have the correct setup until now. We’re happy we got these now even though both Apathy and Good Game (I can’t find their website for the love… someone link it please) got the kill weeks before us.
Wrath of the Lich King first. Short update on the guild, we’ve been levelling like crazy over the weekend. The dust is settling as everyone is getting used to new talent specs and spells.
Not much happening leading up to the expansion. Following the below posts, alliance raid managed to finish off the last horde faction leader granting the raid another trophy mount. The bears are cool looking with the Alliance blue colour armour. Although after much gloating from the Alliance side and some obviously taunting fake posts on the realm forums, Horde side organised it’s own raid successfully and earned their achievement as well. Well done to both.
Their bears have red colour armour as you can see in the photo.
I’ll try to post more during the weeks leading up to the expansion, giving you the insight of how Infamous is handling the transition to WotLK and our imminent success in the expansion.
It was too early in the morning for fancy screenshots. Video should be incoming from Cylia.
The raid was suggested and planned by Ignatus (achievement & mount whore) for 5am GMT/6am CET in the morning. Most have stayed up all evening while the sensible ones got some sleep after all. The raid didn’t take long to fill as we weren’t stuck for interested people on the server thanks to Union, Good Game, Endurance and others who took their time to help out.
First up was Thrall which was the major failing of the last raid. He was dropped shortly and we proceeded to Undercity to attempt Lady Sylvanas. After seeing that her demon friend doesn’t count anymore towards the encounter, it was just a matter of DPSing her down while she vanished and popped up at random places in her throne room. The raid moved to Thunderbuff and we proceeded to wipe once and then get a good sense of the fight mechanic which requires many tanks and constant taunting to keep on top of the aggro list. Hunters who were unlucky to have their feign deaths resisted were left to die and resurrect immediately after. This was the only way to clear threat and keep up the constant DPS which hunters were a major part of.
This is when it got interesting, we got him down to 1% eventually and few seconds after he was about to drop dead and give us the final achievement and even better one after you’ve had all four faction leaders killed, he healed up fully to 100% and the whole process began again. Ok, he has a re-incarnate or ankh or something, we straightened up and continued with the encounter again to see him heal back fully to 100% after DPSing him down again. Uncalled for really and we stopped the raid soon after.
This might be a bug with Guardian Spirit, if two priests got into range and cast it right before he was about to die, it would heal him to 100%.
