Now that Ulduar has been out for a few weeks, it’s time for an update!
Since the release of Ulduar we have been progressing out our own pace. In our normal hardcore-yet-casual way we’ve managed to secure a huge amount of achievements, many of them being realm firsts.
These are the current standings as of this morning.
Over the last couple of weeks we had a slight lack of members, meaning we had to keep our aims on completing as many achievements as possible, leaving the harder ones until later. Last week we recruited a few more members to give us a little push ending in 3 hardmode kills in 3 nights, 2 of which were realm firsts.
We don’t intend to slow down any time soon, so lets hope we keep the current momentum and grab some more realm firsts!
Videos from Siona and myself will be released shortly and can be found on our forums here.
Thanks to Siona for making the movie. We’ve had few attempts last week but due to sudden connection problems with different members, we didn’t have the correct setup until now. We’re happy we got these now even though both Apathy and Good Game (I can’t find their website for the love… someone link it please) got the kill weeks before us.
Wrath of the Lich King first. Short update on the guild, we’ve been levelling like crazy over the weekend. The dust is settling as everyone is getting used to new talent specs and spells.
Not much happening leading up to the expansion. Following the below posts, alliance raid managed to finish off the last horde faction leader granting the raid another trophy mount. The bears are cool looking with the Alliance blue colour armour. Although after much gloating from the Alliance side and some obviously taunting fake posts on the realm forums, Horde side organised it’s own raid successfully and earned their achievement as well. Well done to both.
Their bears have red colour armour as you can see in the photo.
I’ll try to post more during the weeks leading up to the expansion, giving you the insight of how Infamous is handling the transition to WotLK and our imminent success in the expansion.
It was too early in the morning for fancy screenshots. Video should be incoming from Cylia.
The raid was suggested and planned by Ignatus (achievement & mount whore) for 5am GMT/6am CET in the morning. Most have stayed up all evening while the sensible ones got some sleep after all. The raid didn’t take long to fill as we weren’t stuck for interested people on the server thanks to Union, Good Game, Endurance and others who took their time to help out.
First up was Thrall which was the major failing of the last raid. He was dropped shortly and we proceeded to Undercity to attempt Lady Sylvanas. After seeing that her demon friend doesn’t count anymore towards the encounter, it was just a matter of DPSing her down while she vanished and popped up at random places in her throne room. The raid moved to Thunderbuff and we proceeded to wipe once and then get a good sense of the fight mechanic which requires many tanks and constant taunting to keep on top of the aggro list. Hunters who were unlucky to have their feign deaths resisted were left to die and resurrect immediately after. This was the only way to clear threat and keep up the constant DPS which hunters were a major part of.
This is when it got interesting, we got him down to 1% eventually and few seconds after he was about to drop dead and give us the final achievement and even better one after you’ve had all four faction leaders killed, he healed up fully to 100% and the whole process began again. Ok, he has a re-incarnate or ankh or something, we straightened up and continued with the encounter again to see him heal back fully to 100% after DPSing him down again. Uncalled for really and we stopped the raid soon after.
This might be a bug with Guardian Spirit, if two priests got into range and cast it right before he was about to die, it would heal him to 100%.
With the impending release of WotLK, patch 3.0 is upon us with a whole host of changes to the game we call WoW. The number changes have been huge and such that server instability and queues have become common, mostly from all the paladins renewing their accounts. The masters of the arcane are the ones at the top of the PvP pyramid though with protection warriors, yes protection warriors not far behind (aided by people having a fit of laughter at being attacked by a ‘tank’ which gives mr tank the small window he/she needs to shockwave their asses into the dirt).
In the pve scene put simply everything is nerfed, we raided on the infamous patch day (excuse the pun -ed) and despite numerous problems and some elaborate specs we managed to 17 man Bruttalus and defeat Felmyst with only one priest.
Finally the achievment system, most people love it, others pretend to pity those that strive to explore the deepest caves of Azeroth but everyone loves the “SHCHBOOM” sound when you achieve the honourable feat of killing a lvl 61 warlock before he dismounts in the field of strife. The black war bear is what we all hunger for though and despite coming close (9%) to ending Thrall, the horde or more importantly cyclone were victorious… for now.
Not sure if you guys read other blogs but BRK and Outofmana sponsored a gnome race to Booty Bay in which the winner (and last loser) got a beta key. I remember doing this on other servers before when Bladefist would go down on us. Such great fun, especially when the tigers and gorillas start killing the gnomes.
Congratulations to Fin (Lionel) on the amazing bow. Our annual legendary assignment from the loot Gods have given us this amazing item. In the screenshot from left: Paladin Mexican, Fin, Sjo (who seeded the instance). The bow dropped during the funniest Kil’jaeden kill we’ve done so far.
After all the meleeĀ and few ranged dying at around 14%, the rest of the DPS and healers kept the fight going until the last and eight dragon shield was used. We got him to 1% and everyone did their best to survive, ice blocks, soulstones, etc. After the darkness killed everyone but Ignatus (mage), Kil’jaeden died. The laughs on ventrilo followed the best and funniest boss kill so far for Infamous.
In true Infamous fashion our kill was of course also the last go of the night in which everyone gave it their best and we brought the bastard down in a high quality attempt where we only had one person down at the start of phase 5. I must admit that the fight is a pure breath of fresh air after month long wipes on Muru and that Blizzard have once again made a finely tuned fight that everyone can enjoy, even the RPers!
So now we have SWP cleared its time to wind down a little, put our feet up and relax. Its going to be a while still untill we see WotlK so might as well enjoy what time is left.
